Program Administration Scale (PAS)
It's me again! Last time for the day...I promise :-)
I recently attended a week long training at the McCormick Institite in Chicago to be a reliable assessor on the PAS (Program Administration Scale) tool. I am happy and relieved to say that I passed my reliability test but I do want to take this a bit further and gain my PAS Certification. In order to do this I would need to assess two programs within the next 6 weeks and send all of my documentation in to the McCormick institute for further evaluation and critiqueing. If everything is completed correctly I will then receive my certification.
I am wondering if any of you would mind being my 'guinea pigs'? This would in no way effect your involvement in any of the programs going on in the state. The benefit to you would be the information you would receive regarding the administration side of your program. You would need to compile some documents before I arrived then I would interview you for approximated 1 1/2 - 2 hours with specific questions found in your PAS book and then I would look through your documents that you compiled for me for another hour or so. You would receive a report after the assessment is completed.
Please let me know if this is something you are interested in.
Thanks again,
Pam

Going Statewide!
Hi again,
I have had a request from the Lead Center Consultant in the Western part of North Dakota wondering if we would be willing to invite the directors that are going through Aim4Excellence over there to participate in this blog? I said I would check with all of you.
Also, the western CCR&R is hosting a one time get together for all of their directors to come and meet each other for a couple of hours. They will use this time as a support for each other/relationship builder/stress reliever etc. I'm wondering if you would be interested in something like this for our side of the state? We could all define the agenda (or lack of agenda, if you so choose). I know we all lead very busy lives but maybe this would be a good way to relax for a couple of hours??
Thanks,
Pam

Aim4Excellence Problems
Good morning!
We have been hearing of a few Aim4Excellence problems that some of you are currently experiencing. We thought it might be helpful to McCormick if we compiled all the problems into one document. The main problem that a few of you are having is dealing with a large black screen when you are in your module. If you are experiencing this or anything else please let me know as soon as possible.
Thank you!
Pam

Module 3
Hello everyone! I was wondering if anyone else was experiencing some issues with module 3? I can't get the first resource to print, which means I can't do my first EOL!
Let me know if anyone had this issue and how you solved it.
Thanks!

Mod. 2
I am struggling as well to complete Module 2 as it's a busy time of year. I completed the first section at the beginning of May and I am just now able to get back to work on the remaining sections. I had great intentions of completing each section within a week, but that goal seems to have unintentionally been put at the end of my "t0-do" list. :-)
When I did the job postings assignment I did indicate that you had to be a member of most of the sites in order to use the site completely. I also found that the sites had links that directed you to another site as Laura mentioned, but it was a difficult (or more time consuming) assignment to complete.
Hope everyone has a chance to enjoy the upcoming holiday weekend! I know I'm looking forward to it.

Module 2
Hope everyone is doing well with Mod. 2. I am stuggling to complete all of the "assignments" more this time because it's the end of the school year...so much to do! It's quite a bit more work than mod. 1. How is everyone doing??

Module 2
Hello everyone!
I was wondering if you guys were finding anything on the websites they gave us for job postings? I am only a member of NAEYC. I was curious if you were a member of the other associations if you could see jobs that were posted.
I am liking module 2 better than module 1 right now but it is getting harder to get anywhere because of the end of the school year approaching! I doubt I will get to take a two week break this time around! I may still be doing the module!

Into Module 2!!!
Hello Everyone!
The first module was great to go through and now I feel like I know a little how this director credential works! The time management of fitting in the course work is hardest for me. I hope to be able to use my time more effectively starting this next module. I am really enjoying the information so far and look forward to what we will be learning about staffing!

Hi
So, I started Mod. 2. I think it is going to be very beneficial. I work on my mods at home also. I do it because I get peace and quiet and I really don't feel it's fair to work on it when the teachers can't work on their online classes at work whenever they want.
Good Luck All!!

Answer to Pam's Question
The reason I do my Aim work at home is because I get interrupted to often at work. There is just so much going on throughout the day and I can't put my focus towards actually learning and retaining the information. I find it more beneficial to me to sit at a coffee shop...
I am really enjoying the modules. It is very helpful information especially as a new director.

Module 2...Here we come!!
Hi Everyone,
I think it is official?! Everyone has submitted their first module! Some of you are diving into the 2nd and others are taking a deserving break. If you look at the timeline Module 2 doesn't officially start until May 1st so take the week too absorb if you need too!
I have a question. Are all of you finding you have to work on the modules at home? Why? Is it for technology reasons or due to distractions?
Have a great week!

Module 1
Hope everyone is doing well! I got my results from Module 1 and I am excited to say I passed!! Not that I didn't think I was going to but there's always doubt. I started Module 2 today and am really enjoying it as I feel it will help immensely in the staff process.
Have a good Monday and week :)
